Fondant- Questions

Re: Fondant- Questions
Hi Pam,
When I make my fondant I use glucose syrup and not liquid. I was just wondering if you would recommend the liquid better than the syrup? It turns out fine with the syrup, but the syrup is a pain in the butt to use, as it is stick and messy.
I have also never used the microwave for fondant, so I'm going to give that a go too!!

Hi Samoo,
I think you will find that your glucose syrup and liquid glucose are the SAME thing - You can heat a spoon up to make getting it out of the jar easier.

You can heat the jar of liquid glucose for about 10 seconds too, it is then easy to use. If pouring cut it off with a knife using the top of the jar as a guide. Make sure if you wet the spoon, you dry it too as the water can set up mould in the glucose.
