Anyway, after doing that PC course in June (not that it was a Madhatter one) and a years more experience at decorating, I have a little more confidence at carving and getting a sharp edge, and I "think" I have figured out the cutting of it. ...

I have started my shoe box cake for my birthday.

Today I made the tissue paper much easier than I thought thanks to a pasta machine (my new best friend) and I did a bi colour paper of pink and white - it looks pretty good if you ask me. It is now happily drying on crumpled tissue paper.

Now my questions (I always have them ). I am using a square cake board and I am using my JEM cutters to make the little shoes not full size.

If I do the box black - what colour would you do the shoes? ...

Hi,

I have to create a two tiered cake for class and have some questions. Firstly, do the heights of the both the tiers need to be the same? I have an 8" round pan that's 4" high, and a 6" that's 3". Secondly, is an 8" base with a 6" top tier o.k? The wilton book I have has 10" bases with 6" tops which looks really nice.

regards

Gabrielle

It is going to be a three tier cake. The cakes are going to be stacked

off center all toward one side. The outside is going to be buttercream

fashioned to look like bamboo. Its supposed to look like a running

fountain. To get the water effect I am going to mix blue Gelatin

(finger jello consistency) the size of the largest and middle tier cake

and lay it over the top so it has a water apperance. I found it took a bit longer to cook than an hour, I gave it about another 20 minutes. Will be making this one again.

Thanks for the recipe Kelli (found it on CC)
